What Never Happens Here
Dune bashing and off-road rallying are not permitted inside Hegra at any price. Motorized movement between tombs stays on paved or graded tracks at walking pace, and the wilder buggy and duning terrain sits in separate recreation zones well outside the heritage boundary. Climbing the monuments for a better view is a serious antiquities offense, not a photo opportunity.
Planning Around the Heat
November through March brings 18C to 26C days and cold nights, the only realistic window for a full desert circuit. From May to September, daytime highs push past 40C and tours compress into early morning and sunset slots.
