A man with a lanyard near the Sagrada Familia queue offering a same-day “skip the line” ticket is not doing you a favor. Both of Barcelona’s biggest sights sell online only, with no ticket window on site at all, so anyone selling a physical one on the street is selling something fake.
The scam worth naming plainly
Sagrada Familia and Park Guell are both online-only, zero walk-up sales, at any time of year. Any street tout near the Sagrada Familia queue or along La Rambla offering a same-day physical ticket is not legitimate. Buy directly from the official domain for either site, or through a well-known aggregator, never from someone standing in the queue with you.
Barcelona Bus Turistic: three routes, one network
The city’s official hop-on-hop-off system runs a Red route north, a Blue route south through the Eixample, and a summer-only Green route up Montjuic, with a stop at the base of the Montjuic cable car on that last one. Montjuic: a cable car and a funicular are not the same ride
The Teleferic de Montjuic is a 750m aerial gondola with three stops, Parc de Montjuic, Mirador and Castell de Montjuic, return tickets from roughly EUR 12.60-17 online, cheaper than paying at the door. Book Montjuic cable car tickets or check telefericdemontjuic.cat for current fares. The funicular is a separate, everyday transit link from Paral-lel metro station up into the park, covered by a standard T-casual or Hola Barcelona fare rather than its own ticket; confusing the two means paying twice for a ride that was already covered.
Do the combo-pass math before buying
The Barcelona Card runs roughly EUR 39-79 for 2-5 days, bundling transit with 25-plus discounted or free entries; Articket BCN is a flat EUR 38 for six major art museums over 12 months. Both only pay off once an itinerary genuinely hits several of the included stops. barcelonacard.org lists what counts toward the pass this year, worth checking against your actual plan before buying either one.
