Bethlehem sits in the West Bank’s Area A, administered by the Palestinian Authority, so carry a passport: your entry record covers re-entry into Jerusalem, and foreign tourists don’t need an extra visa for the day. Israeli citizens and dual nationals are generally barred from entering Area A. The Church of the Nativity and Manger Square are the draw.
Ein Gedi and Qumran
About an hour out, Ein Gedi Nature Reserve runs roughly 28 ILS adult, 14 ILS child, and its freshwater waterfalls are a genuine relief after a hot morning at Masada. Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, sits nearby and pairs naturally with the same route.
Tel Aviv
