Family Days Out in Bangkok, Priced Right

Wild monitor lizards, several hundred of them, some over 3 meters long, sun themselves near the lake in the middle of a park that costs nothing to enter, which makes Lumpini a stranger family stop than most Bangkok guides let on.
Lumpini Park
Bangkok’s central 142-acre park is entirely free: the monitor lizards are a genuine kid-magnet curiosity, and free pedalo rentals plus free daily 5pm outdoor aerobics classes round out a no-cost afternoon.
KidZania Bangkok
Inside Siam Paragon, this scaled kids’ role-play city tiers pricing by age and by weekday versus weekend, roughly 570-1,150 THB for ages 4-14, toddlers 2-3 cheaper, under-2 free. Hours run Mon-Fri 10am-5pm, Sat-Sun and holidays 10:30am-8:30pm. KidZania’s official site has current age-tier pricing. Safari World
A combined drive-through Safari Park and walk-through Marine Park on the city’s northeast edge. The walk-up gate price, around 1,800 THB ticket-only, runs dramatically higher than the online combo, roughly 1,100-1,200 THB for both parks; this is a genuine “always book online” gap, not a stale figure. A Giraffe Terrace feeding add-on, 200 THB per person, has run since January 2025. Book the Safari World combo ticket on Viator . Safari World’s site confirms current showtimes.
SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
In the Siam Paragon basement, official gate price runs around 1,090 THB adult, with a combo ticket alongside Madame Tussauds-style attractions at roughly 1,200 THB, cheaper than buying each separately. SEA LIFE’s own site lists any current limited-run exhibits.
Dream World, a bigger day than it looks
About an hour away in Pathum Thani, a full amusement park across themed zones, open daily 10am-5pm. Treat it as its own day trip rather than pairing it with an in-city stop like KidZania; the distance alone rules out doing both well. Dream World’s site has current operating hours.
Dusit Zoo is not an option anymore
Dusit Zoo (Khao Din) closed permanently on 30 September 2018 after about 80 years. Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chonburi is a separate, unrelated facility that took in some rehomed animals; it never became “the new Dusit Zoo” and should not appear as a current Bangkok attraction under that name.
