Family Activities in Singapore
Family Activities in Singapore
A family day here splits cleanly into two prices: free, and genuinely expensive. Knowing which is which before you plan the week saves both an argument at the gate and a blown budget by day three.
Mandai Wildlife Reserve
Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, Bird Paradise, Night Safari, Rainforest Wild Adventure, and Exploria are the six parks covered by the Mandai Destination Pass: SGD 88/60 for two attractions, SGD 118/90 for six over one day, or SGD 158/110 for six across five days. Rainforest Wild Adventure was renamed from Rainforest Wild Asia in May 2026 and now spans two zones; Exploria is a new indoor multimedia attraction that opened in March 2026, SGD 38 adult standalone if bought outside the pass. None of this is cheap, but the five-day pass is the better value if you’re spreading the parks across a longer stay rather than rushing all six into one exhausting day. Current tiers and hours are on Mandai’s own site .
Sentosa’s Big Two
Universal Studios Singapore runs SGD 83 off-peak, SGD 86 peak. The Singapore Oceanarium, renamed from S.E.A. Aquarium after reopening roughly three times larger in July 2025, runs somewhere around SGD 43 to 50 depending on the platform, worth confirming at booking rather than assuming a fixed number. Neither is a budget stop, and if you’re travelling without kids, both are honestly skippable. Search Universal Studios and Oceanarium tickets on GetYourGuide .
The Free Option: Gardens by the Bay’s Children’s Garden
A one-hectare water-play and treehouse zone for children 12 and under, adults admitted only when accompanying a child. Open Thursday to Sunday and public holidays, 9am to 7pm, with water play closing at 6:30pm. It costs nothing, which makes it worth building a whole free morning around rather than treating it as a side stop. Current hours are confirmed on Gardens by the Bay’s site .
Jewel Changi’s Canopy Park
Mazes, a bouncing net, and topiary walks sit beside the free Rain Vortex, worth knowing about if you have a long layover or an early or late flight through Changi. Search Canopy Park tickets on Viator if you want the paid attractions booked ahead rather than bought at the counter.
For the adult-leaning version of some of the same sights, see sightseeing .
Tip: Book Mandai’s six-attraction, five-day pass over the one-day version if your trip allows it. Spreading the parks out avoids the exhaustion of trying to do the zoo, the bird park, and a night safari in a single day with kids in tow.
