Twenty-six kilometers of paved trail run from a roundabout in AlUla town straight to the gates of a 2,000 year old necropolis, and most visitors never notice it’s there to ride.
Cycling to the Site
The Wheels Bike Hub anchors AlUla’s cycling scene, renting road, gravel, and mountain bikes for the dedicated 26km path connecting the AlFareed Roundabout to the Hegra Visitor Centre, part of a wider 45km network across the valley. It’s flat, paved, and rideable well outside the guided tour schedule, which makes it one of the only ways to approach Hegra on your own timing rather than a fixed departure. Carry your own water on the ride; there’s shade at the Visitor Centre end but almost none along the 26km route itself, and the desert heats up fast once the sun clears the horizon. Dark Skies
AlUla and Hegra sit under Bortle Class 1 to 2 skies with essentially no light pollution. Where the Line Sits
