Shows And Events Southern Region
Shows and events in Southern Iceland
Scheduled entertainment in Iceland’s Southern Region (Suðurland) is limited to a few venues, so check each one’s website for dates before you travel.
Icelandic Lava Show, Vík
At Víkurbraut 5, the Icelandic Lava Show stages a live lava show. Guests are asked to turn up 20 minutes before the start. Babies aged 0 to 1 are free on a lap, and the show may overwhelm children aged 0 to 4. Check the website for ticket prices. Reykjavík has a second lava show.
Rye-bread bakery tour, Laugarvatn
Fontana runs a rye-bread bakery tour as a booked ticket. Tours start at 11:45 and 14:30, plus 10:15 in summer only. Confirm the time when you book.
Skógar Museum
The Skógar Museum has open-air turf houses and a folk museum. Adults pay 3,000 ISK, students and seniors 2,000 ISK, ages 12 to 17 pay 1,600 ISK, and under 12s enter free with an adult.
Tips
- Check safetravel.is and road.is before driving to an evening show, since winter roads and weather can change quickly.
- Parking at natural sights is usually paid, so budget for it.
