A 7-Day Itinerary to the Ultimate Adventure Destination: Antarctica
Day 1: Arrival in Punta Arenas, Chile
- Morning arrival in Punta Arenas, Chile, and check-in at your hotel
- Lunch and dinner at local restaurants, getting accustomed to the unique flavors of Patagonian cuisine
- In the evening, attend a mandatory briefing with your expedition team, covering safety protocols, camp life, and the adventure ahead
Day 2: Travel to King George Island, Antarctica
- Morning charter flight from Punta Arenas to King George Island, Antarctica (approx. 4.5 hours)
- Arrival in King George Island, where you’ll board your ship, the “Antarctic Explorer”
- Lunch and get settled on board as we begin our journey across Drake Passage
- In the evening, attend a presentation by our expedition leader, covering the history and wildlife of Antarctica
Day 3: Exploring the Antarctic Peninsula
- Morning Zodiac cruise through the icy waters of Neko Harbour, surrounded by towering glaciers and majestic peaks
- Visit Petermann Island, home to an impressive colony of Adelie penguins
- Lunch on board as we sail through the breathtaking scenery of the Antarctic Peninsula
- Afternoon visit to Port Lockroy, a historic British research station turned museum, featuring adorable gentoo penguin colonies
Day 4: Wildlife Wonderland
- Morning Zodiac cruise to a secluded cove, teeming with wildlife, including humpback whales, orcas, and minke whales
- Visit the majestic Paradise Bay, surrounded by towering mountains and glaciers
- Lunch on board as we navigate through the icy waters of the Antarctic Sound
- Afternoon visit to the iconic “Penguin Post Office” at Port Lockroy, where you can send postcards from Antarctica!
Day 5: The Famed South Shetland Islands
- Morning Zodiac cruise to Half Moon Island, home to a stunning colony of chinstrap penguins
- Visit Rookery Point, featuring a massive colony of gentoo penguins and a chance to see blue-eyed shags up close
- Lunch on board as we sail through the scenic waters of the South Shetland Islands
- Afternoon visit to Deception Island, an active volcano with a fascinating history and unique wildlife
Day 6: Return Journey Across Drake Passage
- Morning departure from Deception Island, beginning our return journey across Drake Passage
- Lunch and dinner on board as we take advantage of the calm seas and enjoy the company of fellow travelers
- Attend a presentation by our expedition team, covering the geology and natural history of Antarctica
Day 7: Return to Punta Arenas, Chile
- Morning arrival back in King George Island, where you’ll disembark and board your charter flight back to Punta Arenas (approx. 4.5 hours)
- Lunch and farewell dinner at local restaurants, sharing stories of your incredible adventure
- Check-in at your hotel in Punta Arenas for a well-deserved rest after an unforgettable journey
