Belarus 6 Day Itinerary
Belarus Travel Itinerary: 6 Days
Day 1: Arrival in Minsk
- Arrive at Minsk National Airport (MSQ)
- Obtain a Belarusian visa (if required; see Visa Requirements below)
- Take a taxi or bus to your hotel in the city center
- Visit the Upper City (Верхний город), a historic neighborhood with beautiful architecture and scenic views
- Explore the Independence Square, home to the Government House and other important buildings
Day 2: Minsk
- Visit the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, dedicated to Belarus’ role in WWII
- Take a stroll through the Gorky Park, a popular recreational area with amusement rides and gardens
- Stop by the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, a beautiful Orthodox church
- Enjoy traditional Belarusian cuisine for lunch, such as draniki (potato pancakes) or machanka (meat stew)
- Visit the National Library of Belarus, a stunning example of modern architecture
Day 3: Minsk to Mir Castle and Nesvizh Palace
- Take a day trip to the Mir Castle (approx. 1 hour drive), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful castles in Eastern Europe
- Explore the castle’s museum and learn about its history
- Visit the Nesvizh Palace, another stunning castle with impressive gardens and fountains
- Return to Minsk in the evening and enjoy a traditional Belarusian dinner
Day 4: Vitebsk
- Take an early train to Vitebsk (approx. 3.5 hours journey)
- Visit the Vitebsk City Hall, a beautiful example of Baroque architecture
- Explore the Marc Chagall Museum, dedicated to the life and work of the famous artist
- Walk along the Western Dvina River and enjoy the scenic views
- Try some local Vitebsk cuisine, such as vydranka (a fish dish) or klatski (potato pancakes)
Day 5: Polotsk
- Take a day trip to Polotsk (approx. 2 hours drive), one of the oldest cities in Belarus
- Visit the Sofia Cathedral, a beautiful example of Orthodox architecture
- Explore the Polotsk Museum of History and Culture, which showcases the city’s rich history
- Walk along the Western Dvina River and enjoy the scenic views
- Return to Minsk in the evening
Day 6: Departure from Minsk
- Spend the morning shopping for souvenirs or visiting any last-minute attractions
- Depart for the airport and fly back home
