El Salvador 3-Day Itinerary
Day 1: San Salvador and Surroundings
Morning
- Arrive in San Salvador, the capital city of El Salvador
- Visit the National Museum of Anthropology (free admission) to learn about the country’s history and culture
- Explore the nearby Catedral Metropolitana, a beautiful colonial-style cathedral
Afternoon
- Head to the vibrant neighborhood of La Libertad, known for its street art, cafes, and restaurants
- Visit the Monumento al Divino Salvador del Mundo, a iconic statue with great city views
- Enjoy lunch at one of the many local eateries, trying traditional dishes like pupusas or tamales
Evening
- Experience the city’s nightlife in the trendy neighborhood of Zona Rosa
- Visit the Paseo General Escalón, a lively pedestrian walkway lined with restaurants and bars
