Day 1: Arrival and Habana Vieja
- Land at Jose Marti International Airport (HAV) and take the state taxi desk’s fixed cash fare, roughly $25-35 to Habana Vieja or Vedado, agreed before the car moves

Is 3 days enough for Havana?
Enough to cover the core sights properly without sprinting, but still tight on the food side. Three days fits Habana Vieja, Vedado, Callejon de Hamel and Fusterlandia comfortably, with time for maybe three real paladar dinners. If a slower food pace or the harbor forts matter to you, the 4-day version is the next real step up.
What should I skip if I only have 3 days?
Skip the Partagas cigar factory tour and the deeper Miramar wander, both fit better into a 5-day trip once you’ve already covered the essentials. Prioritize Fusterlandia and Callejon de Hamel over a second Habana Vieja pass; they’re the two stops first-timers most often run out of time for and regret missing.
Time the Fabrica de Arte Cubano stop against the calendar before you land. It only runs Thursday through Sunday, and building a 3-day trip around a Monday-to-Wednesday window means swapping that final evening for a paladar with live music instead.
