Iguazu Falls 5 Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Exploration of the Argentine Side
- Morning: Arrive at Ezeiza International Airport (EZE) and take a shuttle or taxi to your hotel in Puerto Iguazu, Argentina
- Afternoon: Check-in to your hotel and freshen up. Head out to explore the town, visit the local market for some souvenirs, and enjoy the views of the falls from the Argentine side
- Evening: Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants in town, trying some of the local cuisine such as asado or empanadas
Day 2: Devil’s Throat and Upper Circuit
- Morning: Start your day by taking the elevator or walking up to the viewing platform for the Devil’s Throat (Garganta del Diablo). Get up close and personal with the falls and take in the breathtaking views
- Afternoon: Take the Upper Circuit trail, which offers stunning views of the falls from above. The trail is approximately 1 km long and takes around 30-40 minutes to complete
- Evening: Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant and watch the sunset over the falls
Day 3: Lower Circuit and Adventure Activities
- Morning: Take the Lower Circuit trail, which offers stunning views of the falls from below. The trail is approximately 1 km long and takes around 30-40 minutes to complete
- Afternoon: Try your hand at adventure activities such as rafting or kayaking on the river, or take a helicopter tour for a bird’s-eye view of the falls
- Evening: Enjoy dinner and watch a movie under the stars
Day 4: Brazilian Side and Macuco Falls
- Morning: Take a bus or taxi to the Brazilian side of the falls (approximately 30 minutes). Visit the Porto Canoas visitor center and take in the stunning views of the falls from this perspective
- Afternoon: Take the Macuco Falls trail, which is a shorter and more accessible hike than the Argentine trails. The trail takes around 10-15 minutes to complete and offers stunning views of the falls
- Evening: Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants in town, trying some of the local cuisine such as feijoada or churrasco
Day 5: Hiking and Relaxation
- Morning: Take a hike on one of the many trails in the park, such as the La Loberia trail or the Juan Ignacio Molina trail. These trails offer stunning views of the falls and surrounding landscape
- Afternoon: Relax at your hotel pool or take some time to explore the town, visit the local shops, or enjoy a massage or spa treatment
- Evening: Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants in town, trying some of the local cuisine such as parrillada or dulce de leche
