The Trinity Lavra of St Sergius is a 10 minute walk from the Sergiev Posad station, the most significant monastery in Russian Orthodoxy and the single essential Golden Ring stop. Grounds are free; a separate fee covers specific museum collections inside, confirm the current figure on arrival. Dress modestly, shoulders and knees covered, and bring a headscarf if you’re a woman entering the churches: this is a working monastery, not a museum you can breeze through in shorts. Is 2 days enough for a Golden Ring day trip?
Enough for exactly one. Two days covers Moscow arrival logistics plus a full Sergiev Posad day, the single essential Golden Ring stop, comfortably.
