Namibia 5 Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Windhoek and City Exploration

  • Arrive at Hosea Kutako International Airport in the morning
  • Transfer to hotel in the city center for check-in and freshening up
  • Visit the Namibia Craft Centre for a taste of local culture and handicrafts
  • Head to the nearby Namibia Museum to learn about the country’s history and geography
  • Take a stroll around the Independence Square, visiting the Christ Church and the Supreme Court building
  • Enjoy dinner at one of Windhoek’s best restaurants, such as the famous Joe’s Beer House

Day 2: Windhoek to Etosha National Park

  • Depart Windhoek in the morning and drive to Etosha National Park (approx. 5 hours)
  • Arrive at Etosha and spend the afternoon game driving in search of wildlife
  • Overnight at one of Etosha’s many campsites, such as the Okaukuejo Camp or Halali Camp

Day 3: Etosha National Park

  • Spend the day exploring Etosha’s various waterholes and salt pans
  • Look out for big game like elephants, lions, giraffes, and antelopes
  • Take a guided tour to get up close and personal with the wildlife
  • Enjoy dinner at one of Etosha’s campsites or under the stars

Day 4: Etosha National Park to Swakopmund

  • Depart Etosha in the morning and drive to Swakopmund (approx. 5 hours)
  • Arrive in Swakopmund and check-in at your hotel
  • Spend the afternoon exploring this charming coastal town, including the famous German-inspired architecture and the Swakopmund Lighthouse
  • Enjoy dinner at one of the many excellent restaurants

Day 5: Swakopmund

  • Take a morning excursion to the Namib Desert, where you can take a scenic drive or hike through the stunning landscape
  • Visit the nearby Walvis Bay, where you can take a boat tour to see the famous Cape Cross seal colony
  • Return to Swakopmund for some relaxation time by the sea or try your hand at water sports like surfing or kayaking
  • Farewell dinner in Swakopmund

Optional:

  • Take a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the Namib Desert (book in advance)
  • Visit the nearby Sandwich Harbour, where you can see flamingos and other seabirds up close
  • Go sandboarding down massive dunes at the nearby Dune 7
