Oman 4-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Muscat Exploration
Morning
- Arrive at Muscat International Airport (MCT)
- Obtain a visa on arrival (free for citizens of certain countries, otherwise around OMR 20 / USD 50)
- Take a taxi or rent a car to get to your hotel in Muscat city
Afternoon
- Visit the Grand Mosque (Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque), one of the largest mosques in the world
- Explore the Muttrah Souk, a traditional Omani market selling spices, perfumes, and souvenirs
- Walk along the Muttrah Corniche, a scenic waterfront promenade with stunning views of the Gulf of Oman
Evening
- Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, trying Omani dishes like shuwa (a meat dish) or luqaimat (sweet dumplings)
- Take a stroll around the Old Muscat area, admiring the historic fortifications and architecture
Day 2: Nizwa and Jebel Akhdar
Morning
- Drive to Nizwa (around 1.5 hours), the former capital of Oman
- Visit the Nizwa Fort, a historic castle with stunning views of the surrounding countryside
- Explore the Nizwa Souk, known for its silverware and pottery
Afternoon
- Head to Jebel Akhdar (around 2 hours), a mountain range offering breathtaking views and hiking opportunities

Day 3: Wahiba Sands and Sur

- Drive to Wahiba Sands (around 2 hours), also known as the Sharqiya Sands

Day 4: Wadi Shab and Tiwi

- Drive to Wadi Shab (around 1.5 hours), a stunning gorge with turquoise pools and waterfalls
- Hike through the wadi, enjoying the scenic views and swimming in the natural pools
Afternoon
- Head to Tiwi (around 30 minutes), a picturesque beach town with crystal-clear waters
- Relax on the beach or try snorkeling or swimming in the ocean
Evening
- Return to Muscat (around 1.5 hours) for your departure flight
Things to Know
- Oman is a conservative country; dress modestly and respect local customs
- The Omani rial (OMR) is the local currency, although USD is widely accepted

Transportation
