Peru 2-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Lima and Miraflores
Morning
- Breakfast: Start your day with a traditional Peruvian breakfast at a local café or bakery. Try some “picarones” (sweet potato donuts) and “churros” with chocolate.
- Visa Requirements: Check if you need a visa to enter Peru. Citizens of most countries in the Americas, Europe, and Asia do not require a visa for stays up to 183 days.

Day 2: Cusco and Machu Picchu

- Flight to Cusco: Take an early morning flight from Lima to Cusco (approximately 1 hour).
- Acclimatization: Spend some time acclimating to the high altitude of Cusco (3,400 meters). Drink plenty of water and take it easy.
Afternoon
- Machu Picchu Tour: Take a guided tour of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Learn about the history and significance of this ancient Inca citadel.
- Train to Aguas Calientes: Return to Aguas Calientes (also known as Machu Picchu Town) by train.
Evening
- Dinner: Enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants in Aguas Calientes, serving a range of international and Peruvian cuisine.
- Relaxation: Take some time to relax and unwind after a busy day. You can also explore the town’s markets and shops.
Transportation
- Flights: Book flights from Lima to Cusco with LATAM or Avianca.
- Trains: Use PeruRail or IncaRail for trains between Cusco and Aguas Calientes.
- Taxis: Taxis are widely available in Lima and Cusco, but be sure to agree on a price before you start your journey.
Other Tips and Information
- Altitude Sickness: Be prepared for altitude sickness in Cusco. Drink plenty of water, eat light meals, and take breaks.
