Taiwan 5-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Taipei City Exploration

Morning: Arrive at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) and take the bus or MRT to your hotel
9:00 AM: Visit the iconic Taipei 101 skyscraper and take in the stunning city views from its observation deck
11:00 AM: Explore the bustling streets of Ximending, known for its fashion, food, and nightlife
1:00 PM: Enjoy a traditional Taiwanese lunch at Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle or try some street food at Shilin Night Market (opens in the evening)
3:00 PM: Visit the National Palace Museum to see the famous Jadeite Cabbage sculpture and learn about Taiwan’s history
Evening: Take a stroll along the Tamsui River and enjoy the sunset

Day 2: Taipei Surroundings

9:00 AM: Take a day trip to Jiufen Old Street, a historic mining town turned into a popular tourist destination ( approx. 1 hour by bus or taxi)
11:00 AM: Explore the scenic coastal town of Yehliu, featuring stunning rock formations and ocean views
2:00 PM: Visit the Yehliu Ocean World aquarium to see marine life and learn about Taiwan’s ocean conservation efforts
Evening: Return to Taipei and enjoy a traditional Taiwanese dinner at a local restaurant

Day 3: Sun Moon Lake and Lukang

9:00 AM: Take an early morning bus or drive to Sun Moon Lake (approx. 2 hours), the largest freshwater lake in Taiwan
11:00 AM: Take a boat ride on the lake and visit the famous Wenwu Temple
1:00 PM: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, trying some of the region’s specialties like oyster omelets or stinky tofu
3:00 PM: Visit the historic town of Lukang, known for its traditional architecture and cultural heritage

Day 4: Taroko National Park

9:00 AM: Take an early morning bus or drive to Taroko National Park (approx. 2 hours)
11:00 AM: Hike the Shakadang Trail, a scenic trail that takes you through the marble-walled gorge
1:00 PM: Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant near the park entrance
3:00 PM: Visit the Taroko Gorge, a stunning natural wonder featuring marble cliffs and waterfalls
Evening: Return to Taipei and enjoy some shopping or entertainment in the city

Day 5: Departure

Morning: Spend some time shopping for last-minute souvenirs or visiting any last-minute attractions
12:00 PM: Check out of your hotel and head to the airport for your departure flight
