Tanzania 7-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Dar es Salaam
- Arrive at Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam
- Transfer to your hotel in the city center and spend the rest of the day relaxing
- Visit the nearby National Museum or take a stroll along the Indian Ocean coastline
Visa Requirements: Tanzanian visas are required for most nationalities. You can obtain a visa upon arrival at the airport or apply online in advance.
Day 2: Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar
- Take a ferry from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar (approximately 2 hours)
- Check-in to your hotel and explore Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
- Visit the famous Forodhani Gardens and take in the sunset at the waterfront
Transportation: Ferries operate regularly between Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. You can also fly from DAR to ZNZ (Abeid Amani Karume International Airport) if preferred.
Day 3: Zanzibar
- Take a snorkeling or diving trip to Nungwi, Mnemba Island, or the nearby coral reefs
- Visit the famous Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island

- Visit the nearby Marangu Village and explore its coffee plantations
Transportation: Flights operate regularly between Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro. You can also take a bus or shuttle from Dar es Salaam to Moshi (approximately 8 hours).
Day 5: Mount Kilimanjaro
- Begin your ascent up Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa (optional)
- Take a guided hike through the lush rainforests and scenic valleys of the mountain
- Overnight at one of the mountain’s many campsites or lodges
Things to Know: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro requires a good level of physical fitness. Make sure to acclimatize properly and hire an experienced guide.
Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park
- Descend from Mount Kilimanjaro and transfer to Lake Manyara National Park
- Take a game drive through the park, known for its diverse wildlife and scenic lake views
- Overnight at one of the park’s many lodges or campsites
Transportation: Transfer by car or shuttle from Moshi to Lake Manyara (approximately 2 hours).
Day 7: Departure
- Return to JRO (Kilimanjaro International Airport) for your departure flight
