Tanzania 7-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Dar es Salaam

  • Arrive at Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam
  • Transfer to your hotel in the city center and spend the rest of the day relaxing
  • Visit the nearby National Museum or take a stroll along the Indian Ocean coastline

Visa Requirements: Tanzanian visas are required for most nationalities. You can obtain a visa upon arrival at the airport or apply online in advance.

Day 2: Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar

  • Take a ferry from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar (approximately 2 hours)
  • Check-in to your hotel and explore Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • Visit the famous Forodhani Gardens and take in the sunset at the waterfront

Transportation: Ferries operate regularly between Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. You can also fly from DAR to ZNZ (Abeid Amani Karume International Airport) if preferred.

Day 3: Zanzibar

Day 5: Mount Kilimanjaro

  • Take a guided hike through the lush rainforests and scenic valleys of the mountain
  • Overnight at one of the mountain’s many campsites or lodges
