Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park: A 3-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Sunset at Uluru
- Arrive at the park’s visitor center to collect your tickets and get information on the day’s activities
- Visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre to learn about the local Anangu culture and history
- Head to Mala Walk, a 1.2km loop that takes you around the base of Uluru
- Watch the sunset at the Uluru Sunset Viewing Area, one of the most iconic views in Australia
Day 2: Uluru Sunrise and Kata Tjuta
- Wake up early to watch the sunrise over Uluru from the Uluru Sunset Viewing Area
- Take a guided Movenpick tour around Uluru’s base, learning about the rock’s significance to the Anangu people
- Drive to Kata Tjuta National Park (about 15 minutes away) and take the Valley of the Winds walk, a 2.6km loop that takes you through valleys and gorges
- Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the park’s many scenic viewpoints
Day 3: Explore Uluru and Departure
- Take a self-guided walk around the base of Uluru, exploring its many rock formations and viewing points
- Visit the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre again to learn more about the local culture
- Depart the park in the afternoon, taking with you memories of this incredible natural wonder
