Hop Aboard the Jeju City Bus Tour
No car, no problem: Jeju City runs its own official hop-on hop-off bus, and it covers more ground than you’d expect for the price of a couple of coffees.
The City Tour Bus
The double-decker Jeju City Tour Bus, run by the Jeju Tourism Organization, loops 21 stops including CJU Airport, the cruise and coastal ferry terminals, the Jeju Bus Terminal, Dongmun Market, Gwandeokjeong, the Yongyeon suspension bridge, Yongduam Rock, Iho Tewoo Beach and Halla Arboretum. A day pass runs about 12,000 KRW for adults, departures go hourly from 09:00 to 19:30, and you can hop off at any stop and catch a later bus onward. The one date to avoid: it’s closed every Monday, so don’t build your one full day in Jeju City around a Monday if this bus is part of the plan. For a car-free visit, it’s worth building a day around, especially since it already covers the Yongyeon and Dongmun stops you’ll want anyway.
The summer night version
During July and August, a separate Jeju Night Bus runs Friday and Saturday evenings, cruising the illuminated coastal stretches and night markets after the daytime loop has wrapped up. It’s seasonal, so check it’s actually running before you plan an evening around it.
Regional day tours for going further
If you want to reach Seongsan, Manjanggul or the west coast around Hyeopjae and Sanbangsan without renting a car, organized day coaches depart from the Jeju Bus Terminal on set East and West Course routes. These leave Jeju City but don’t loop back through it the way the City Tour Bus does, so treat them as a full day out rather than a quick add-on.
Pay before you board
Every one of these buses is cashless. Load a T-money card, buy one at an airport GS25 or CU on arrival, or tap a contactless foreign Visa or Mastercard directly. Show up with only cash and you’re not getting on.
