Best Nature Spots Near Quebec City
Montmorency Falls
Fifteen minutes east of downtown, the falls drop 83 meters, about 30 meters taller than Niagara, with a cable car to the top, a suspension footbridge over the gorge, and a zipline across the plunge pool. In winter an ice cone builds up at the base and draws photographers on its own.
Ile d’Orleans
A short drive across the bridge from the eastern edge of the city, this island is known as the garden of Quebec: roughly 95% farmland spread across six historic parishes, with strawberries ready from late June, raspberries and blueberries through summer, and apple orchards and cider houses running into October.
Canyon Sainte-Anne
About 30 minutes east near Beaupre, this gorge carries a 74-meter waterfall and three suspension bridges over the Sainte-Anne-du-Nord River, with eight lookout points and trails accessible roughly May through October.
The Saint Lawrence riverfront and Old Port
Right in the city, the waterfront along the Old Port gives long, flat walking stretches with views across the river, and the Marche du Vieux-Port sells local produce and maple products if you want to turn a walk into a picnic.

Jacques-Cartier National Park
About 30 minutes north, this park has a much larger network of trails through valleys and along the Jacques-Cartier River, with camping and kayaking options for a longer outdoor day away from the city.
