2 Days in Barcelona: First-Timer Itinerary

Day 1: Sagrada Familia And The Old City
- Land, drop bags, and go straight to your Sagrada Familia slot, book weeks ahead since peak-season entries go 10-14 days out. Basic entry starts at EUR26, one tower brings it to EUR36, and a temporary EUR2-5 centenary surcharge has applied since June 2026
- Walk to Barcelona Cathedral and Placa Sant Jaume, both free, the compact core of the Gothic Quarter
- Push through Las Ramblas toward La Boqueria, entry is free, but skip the pre-cut fruit cups right at the entrance, they run 3 to 5 times the price of the same fruit 20 meters further in
- Dinner off the main drag, a couple of streets into the Gothic Quarter or El Born beats anything directly on Las Ramblas on both price and quality
Is 2 days enough for Barcelona? It covers Sagrada Familia, Park Guell, and one Gaudi house comfortably, with the Gothic Quarter and a beach evening fitted around them. Day 2: Park Guell And The Eixample
- Morning at Park Guell, EUR18 adult for the Monumental Zone’s mosaic terrace and Hypostyle Room, timed 30-minute slots, no walk-up sales at all
- Walk or take the metro down into the Eixample and pick one Gaudi house, Casa Batllo from EUR29 (add the Silver tier for the Dragon’s Rooftop) or La Pedrera at EUR25
- Late afternoon at Barceloneta, the beachfront strip is touristy but the sand and the sea are the real thing, walk a few streets back for better, cheaper seafood
- Watch the sunset from the Passeig Maritim waterfront promenade before a last dinner
How much does 2 days in Barcelona cost? Budget roughly EUR62-72 per person for Sagrada Familia and Park Guell together, plus one Gaudi house around EUR25-38. Add EUR100-150 a day per couple for food and local transport on top of the hotel, more if you add a guided tour to either ticket.
Watch your bag on the metro and around the Sagrada Familia queue both days, pickpocketing, not the protests you might read about, is the actual risk worth planning around here.
