Oranjestad Waterfront
Atlantis Submarines. The boarding point is the Atlantis store at Renaissance Marina in the middle of town. You make your own way to the pier, as there is no hotel pickup. The outing lasts about an hour and a half, and the sub reaches roughly 130 feet down. Riders must be at least 4. Resellers quote about $99 for adults and $89 for children, so treat those as approximate. Seating is limited, and booking ahead through De Palm Tours is wise in busy months. If you want to stay near the surface, De Palm Tours also runs the Seaworld Explorer semi-submarine.
Palm Beach Strip
The Butterfly Farm. It stands on J.E. Irausquin Boulevard, with tickets sold at reception. Adults pay $19, seniors and students $16, and children from 4 to 17 pay $10. Under-4s walk in free. A guided tour comes with every ticket, and the last one leaves around 16:00. Ask at the desk whether your ticket can be reused for another visit during the same holiday.
Noord and the Northwest
Philip’s Animal Garden sits at Alto Vista 116. Adults pay $10, children aged 2 to 13 pay $5 and toddlers under 2 are free. Daily hours run from about 9:00 to 18:00, though some listings show weekday closing at 17:00. Residents include macaws, cockatoos, flamingos, capuchin and howler monkeys, agoutis, armadillos, coatis and crocodiles. Staff stay beside visitors for any hand-feeding.
The Interior and Hato
Aruba Aloe Museum, Factory and Store. The address is Pitastraat 115 in Hato. Visitors get a free walk-through of about 25 minutes covering how the plant is grown and turned into skin care. No food is served as part of it. The tourism board shows weekday hours of 8:30 to 16:00, Saturday 9:00 to 12:00 and closed Sundays, while other listings show longer days, so check hours before you go.
Donkey Sanctuary Aruba. Over 130 donkeys live at Bringamosa 2-Z in Santa Cruz. It costs nothing to enter, and donations keep it running. Opening days and times differ between sources, so check before visiting. Give them only the food the staff provide, and never ride a donkey.
Aruba Ostrich Farm. Matividiri 57 in Paradera. Published adult prices range from about $12 to $17, so ask what is current when you arrive.
After Dark
Kukoo Kunuku’s party bus runs a bar-hopping evening listed from about $79 to $85. Night tours are for guests aged 18 and over.
Linking Stops Together
A sensible day pairs the Butterfly Farm with the beach in front of it. Another joins Philip’s Animal Garden with the California Lighthouse and Alto Vista Chapel, all in the Noord area. Carry small bills for donations and entry fees, and do not leave bags in a parked car.
