Estonia Attraction Tours: Book or Walk In

Guided attractions in Estonia are mostly run by museums and manors rather than big tour companies, so the useful question is whether a visit needs a reservation. A few do, and the rest you can walk into. This page sorts them that way. Prices are in euro and follow the published tiers, and opening times change with the season, so check the operator’s page before you set out.

Book these before you travel

Estonian Mining Museum, Kohtla-Nõmme. The museum is at Jaama 100 in Ida-Virumaa, and underground visits must be pre-booked. It opens Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00 to 17:00 and is closed on Sundays, Mondays and public holidays. The last group goes down two hours before closing. The tour of the underground museum and the enrichment plant lasts about 1.5 hours, you go down roughly 8 m, and tickets are €23 for adults and €60 for a family of 2 adults and up to 5 children aged up to 19. Under-4s are free. Groups of 10 or more can order a Miner’s quick course with lunch for €32 per adult and €24 per child. You can arrive by train to the Kohtla-Nõmme stop or by bus 43. Kreenholm textile mill, Narva. The Narva Museum leads guided tours of the old mill complex as a summer programme. Tours start on Sundays at 12:00 from late April, with a few Wednesday evenings added, and tickets are sold in advance only: €16, or €11 with a discount. Expect about 90 minutes, of which 2.5 km is outdoors, starting at the old Kreenholm gates near Joala street. English-language tours run only on certain listed dates, so look at the Narva Museum tour page before choosing a day. The programme is over for this year.

Haapsalu Episcopal Castle. Entry is €12 for adults, €8 for concessions and €28 for a family. The castle is open daily from 10:00 to 18:00 between 1 June and 31 August, and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays between 1 September and 31 May. The ticket office closes 30 minutes early. Walk in, or book a guide if you want one

Palmse Manor, Lahemaa. From 1 May to 30 September it is open daily 10:00 to 18:00, and from 1 October to 30 April Wednesday to Sunday 10:00 to 16:00. Summer tickets are €12 for adults, €10 for discount and €24 for a family; the winter tiers are €8, €7 and €18. A guide is €60 and should be booked ahead. The park outside is free. Sagadi Manor, Lahemaa. RMK runs this one daily, from 10:00 to 18:00 in summer and 10:00 to 16:00 in winter. A single ticket covers the manor museum and the forest museum: €5 for adults, €3 for students and pensioners, and €10 for a family of 2 adults and up to 2 children under 17. Tartu Old Observatory. It sits on Toomemägi and marks a point of the Struve Geodetic Arc, a UNESCO site since 2005. Tickets are €5, €3 for concessions and €10 for a family. It is open Tuesday to Sunday 10:00 to 18:00 from May to September and on Saturday and Sunday 11:00 to 17:00 from October to April. A guide at the observatory is listed at €60.

University of Tartu Museum. Housed in the cathedral ruins, it costs €10 from May to September and €8 from October to April, with the towers (€5 or €3) open only in summer. A joint ticket with the Old Observatory and the Art Museum is €18. Barriers have been placed around the ruins since November 2025, so follow the signs rather than the old paths. Tallinn tickets

Seaplane Harbour charges €22 for adults, €11 for ages 9 to 18 and €40 for a family, with a combined ticket including Fat Margaret at €30 for adults and €15 for children. At Kiek in de Kök the full museum ticket is €16 for adults, €10 for concessions and €32 for a family, and separate tickets cover the towers and the bastion passages, so pick the section you want.

Choosing and booking
