When prices spike
Rates in every tier multiply during Hajj and the last ten nights of Ramadan, when Umrah is most prized and most crowded, and rooms in the premium and mid-range tiers can sell out months ahead. Outside those windows, particularly in the cooler Saudi winter, prices in all 3 tiers drop substantially and rooms are far easier to find on short notice.
Do hotel prices near the Haram really vary that much by season?
Yes. The same room can cost several times more during Ramadan’s last ten nights or Hajj week than it does in a quiet winter month, and the closest hotels to the mosque sell out first, so book those windows as early as you can.
