Day 1: Fira and the caldera walk to Imerovigli
Arrive via JTR or Athinios, into Fira by bus or transfer. Cable car (EUR 10 one-way) over the donkeys if arriving by cruise tender at the Old Port. Afternoon in Fira, caldera path to Imerovigli for sunset, skipping the Oia crush. Dinner in Fira or Imerovigli.
Day 2: Oia’s blue domes and Akrotiri
Oia early, Ammoudi Bay steps for seafood lunch, then Akrotiri in the afternoon, EUR 20 flat since the 2025 reform (check hours on the Ministry of Culture’s site ). Dinner in Oia or Fira.
Day 3: Kamari beach, Ancient Thera and wine

Day 4: The volcano and hot springs by boat

Day 5: Thirassia and Pyrgos

Day 6: A day trip to Ios
Ios is a short, easy ferry hop, roughly 20 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes depending on the sailing, with up to 7 crossings a day and fares from around EUR 6.50, genuinely doable as a day trip given the crossing time. It’s a different-vibe island, younger and more nightlife-oriented than Santorini’s caldera towns, worth the contrast even if you only have a few hours there. Is a day trip to Ios worth it from Santorini?
