Polis Itinerary for Two or Three Days
Two or three days is enough for Polis Chrysochous and the nearest part of the Akamas coast. The town is in Paphos District of north-west Cyprus, about 35 km from Paphos, and the euro is the currency.

Day 1
The museum at Leoforos Makariou III 26 opens at 08:00 on weekdays and 09:00 on Saturday, and it stays shut on Sundays and public holidays. Swap day 1 and day 2 if you arrive on a Sunday. The Municipal Beach has deep golden sand and a 2026 Blue Flag. By evening, drive west to Latchi, a fishing harbour with fish tavernas and the boat kiosks.
Day 2
Book a Blue Lagoon cruise that sails in the morning. The basic trip takes 2.5 to 3 hours and the swim is from the anchored boat. After lunch, go on to the Baths of Aphrodite, about 11 km from Polis. Entry is free, and visitors are asked not to swim in the pool. Those with stamina can start the 7.5 km Aphrodite Nature Trail, a 3 to 4 hour loop, early in the day instead of the cruise.
Day 3, option A: Pomos
Roughly 20 to 25 km along the coast, Pomos has a fishing harbour and the Dragon Cave, reached by boat or on steps from a small car park. The nearby Kanalli beach is pebbles beneath steep cliffs.
Day 3, option B: Paphos
The city is about 35 km south. Kato Paphos and the Tombs of the Kings are the draw. Without a car, take route 645 from Polis, which runs in about an hour and costs about EUR 2.

Where to stay
Anassa, from Thanos Hotels, stands at Asprokremmos beach near Neo Chorio, roughly 8 km west of Polis. It has 166 rooms, suites and residences and completed a EUR 10 million refurbishment in 2026. Cheaper beds can be found in Polis and Latchi.
Troodos lies inland and is best kept for another trip. Avakas Gorge has been closed since 6 December 2025.
