A Romantic Day and Evening in Seattle
Seattle does not sell ready-made romantic getaway packages. What it has is a set of good settings for two people, and they work best strung together across one day and evening. The order below follows the light. Amounts are in US dollars before sales tax and several change by season, so confirm before you book anything.
Afternoon: glass and gardens
Chihuly Garden and Glass, at 305 Harrison St, is a slow place to wander together, with galleries, a Glasshouse and a garden. Expect to pay roughly $40 to $45 for an adult. Golden hour: two free viewpoints
Kerry Park, at 211 W Highland Dr on Queen Anne, is a small free viewpoint with the skyline and the Space Needle in front of you, and Mount Rainier behind them on clear days. Posted closing times differ between guides, so aim to arrive well before dusk and take the rail spot early.
The Overlook Walk is the other free choice. It opened on 4 October 2024 as an elevated park connecting Pike Place Market to the Elliott Bay promenade, with an elevator and steps. On a clear evening it looks out over the bay and toward the Olympic Mountains.
After dark: the Space Needle bar
The Space Needle at 400 Broad St has timed entry in 15 minute windows and general admission of about $35 to $55. Its Loupe is a rotating glass floor, and next to it the Loupe Lounge is a walk-up bar with no reservations. The tower has no sit-down restaurant, so plan dinner somewhere else. On the water, with a coat
Argosy’s one hour Harbor Cruise leaves Pier 55 and returns to the same dock, and it runs daily. The sunset and happy hour sailings are off until May 2027. Wind over Elliott Bay is cold, so pack a warm layer. The Argosy cruise page lists what is running.
For something private, the VIP glass bottom cabin on the Seattle Great Wheel, at 1301 Alaskan Way, is reserved for your party. Secondary listings put it near $50 per person, so ask at the ticket window for the real price.
A ferry to Bainbridge for dinner
Washington State Ferries leave from Colman Dock at Pier 52, and the crossing to Bainbridge takes 35 minutes. Walk-on adults pay $11.35, collected in Seattle and covering the return.
