The HSL public ferry (an ordinary AB single ticket) to Suomenlinna’s free fortress island, then Temppeliaukio Church , EUR 8, on the way back.
Day 3: Sauna, One Museum and Oodi
A Löyly session (roughly EUR 19-29), one of Ateneum or Kiasma (about EUR 23), and the free Oodi library .
Day 4: Kallio, Kotiharjun Sauna and HAM
Kallio’s grittier streets, Kotiharjun Sauna since 1928 (about EUR 23), and HAM at Tennispalatsi (about EUR 20).
Day 5: Allas Sea Pool, Katajanokka and Töölö
Morning
Allas Sea Pool sits right by Market Square, a floating sea-water pool and sauna complex, about EUR 16-19 for an adult day pass. It is the easiest, most walkable sauna-and-swim combo of the whole trip, no travel time needed.
Afternoon
Cross to Katajanokka, the peninsula east of Market Square, for Uspenski Cathedral, widely described as the largest Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe, and the quiet Art Nouveau apartment blocks around it. Then Töölö, leafy and residential, home to Finlandia Hall (Alvar Aalto) and the Olympic Stadium.
Is the Allas Sea Pool Worth It Alongside Löyly and Kotiharjun?
Yes, they cover different versions of the same ritual. Löyly is the design-forward waterfront experience, Kotiharjun is the historic wood-heated original, and Allas adds an actual swimming pool alongside its saunas, right in the city center with no travel time. Doing all three across five days shows the range rather than repeating one.
Evening
A quieter dinner in Töölö or back toward the center. Longer stays add a second Design District pass and more Kallio nightlife on the 6-day itinerary .
Buy the Allas day pass online in advance during summer, weekend slots fill up. Check current hours on hsl.fi for the tram routes between Katajanokka and Töölö.
