Day 6: The Design District, Kamppi Chapel and a Kallio Night Out
Morning
Go back through the Design District properly this time, Punavuori, Kaartinkaupunki and Ullanlinna between them hold over 100 shops, galleries and studios, more than a first pass on day one can cover. Stop at the Kamppi Chapel of Silence, a small, striking space designed for a quiet moment away from the transit hub around it.
Afternoon
Slow lunch on the Esplanadi, then browse whatever you skipped on day one, Marimekko and Iittala’s flagships reward a second, unhurried look.
Is a Second Design District Day Worth It on a Six-Day Trip?
Yes, if design and shopping genuinely interest you. A single pass on day one covers the highlights; a second day lets you actually go inside the smaller studios and galleries rather than just walking past storefronts, and pairs naturally with the Kamppi Chapel, which sits inside the same district.
Evening
Head to Kallio for dinner and a proper night out, bars and live music run later and cheaper here than anywhere in the center. Wind down the trip with the 7-day itinerary’s slower final day, or fly out the next morning.
Book Kallio-area dinner reservations for a Friday or Saturday night if your six days land on a weekend, the neighborhood’s better spots fill up. Transit details for the whole trip stay on hsl.fi .
