Seville Multi-Day Trips: First or Return

Three days covers Seville once. The fourth and fifth are where a return visit starts, and the plan changes with it.

Building the plan

A longer stay in Seville is a sequence you assemble yourself from real sights, a base in the old town and a few trains or buses. Hotels are easy to compare on Booking.com .

First visit: three days

Day one, the imperial core. Book the Real Alcázar for 09:30, with general entry about €15.50. Then see the Cathedral and Giralda (€13 online), walk through the free Archivo General de Indias, and finish with tapas in Santa Cruz. Tickets are on alcazarsevilla.org .

Day two, river and Triana. Start at the Torre del Oro, cross the Isabel II bridge, and browse Triana’s ceramics and market. Add Casa de Pilatos in the afternoon and climb the Setas at sunset, from €16.

Day three, Expo and art. Plaza de España is free and best before the heat. The Parque de María Luisa and the Museo de Bellas Artes fill the middle of the day, and a flamenco show in Triana, from about €22 to €25, closes the trip.

Return visit: days four and five

By now the headline tickets are done, so the interesting choices are quieter ones.

  • Palaces: Casa de Pilatos is about €12 on the ground floor and about €18 with the upper rooms, and Palacio de las Dueñas is around €12 to €13. See fundacionmedinaceli.org for the former. The Palacio de la Condesa de Lebrija is known for Roman mosaics from Itálica.
  • Hospital de la Caridad: a Baroque charity hospital with a church and paintings by Valdés Leal and Murillo.
  • Alameda and La Macarena: the northern old town, with independent bars, the Basilica de la Macarena and, on Thursday mornings, the El Jueves flea market on Calle Feria.

Beyond the city

Córdoba by AVE takes about 40 to 45 minutes and suits one full day. Cádiz by direct train takes about 1h35 to 1h45. Carmona and Itálica are reached by bus, and Itálica is closed on Mondays. Train times and fares are on renfe.com .

Dates that change the plan

Semana Santa 2027 runs from 21 to 28 March, and the Feria de Abril is expected from 13 to 18 April. Book rooms and the Alcázar slot as early as you can for both. In July and August, keep afternoons for indoor stops because heat alerts above 40C are common.

Tip: spend the fourth day on Córdoba and keep the fifth empty, because a loose day absorbs a closed door better than a booked one. Compare it with the four-day itinerary or the five-day itinerary .
