Romantic Seville Through the Seasons
Seville flatters couples differently in every season, so the right plan depends on when you land.
Winter, November to February
Mild days suit the Real Alcázar gardens, which open at 09:30 and close at 17:00 between October and March. General entry is about €15.50, booked at alcazarsevilla.org . A limited free Monday slot also exists, booked online well ahead.
Evenings belong to the Aire Ancient Baths on Calle Aire 15. The candlelit pools in a restored Mudéjar palace include a rooftop thermal pool with a view of the Giralda. Sessions start from about €26 for 90 minutes and run up to €210, by appointment through beaire.com . Afterwards, a small tablao such as Casa de la Memoria on Calle Cuna 6, from about €22, keeps the night intimate. You can also compare flamenco shows online.
On Sundays the Cathedral offers a free visit from 16:30 to 18:00 with an online reservation.
Spring, March to May
Spring is the busiest and most atmospheric period. Semana Santa 2027 runs from 21 to 28 March, with processions through the old town. Feria de Abril week is expected on 13 to 18 April 2027, lit up on the night of 12 April. Both fill hotels, so reserve rooms early.
Between them, the light is lovely. Watch the sunset from the Isabel II bridge, with Calle Betis glowing below in Triana. The Aurora show at the Setas runs from April to October, from 21:30. Tickets start from €16 at setasdesevilla.com .
Summer, June to September
Heat alerts above 40C are common, so flip the day. Do the gardens at 09:30, retreat for a long lunch from 13:30, and head out again after 19:30. The Setas stay open until 01:00, and the riverside terrace at Muelle de Nueva York is a calm place for a late drink. The rooftop pool at the baths suits a warm evening.
Horse carriages look romantic, but heat is hard on the horses and the city is moving to restrict them in extreme heat. Walk the river instead.
Autumn, October and November
Autumn brings the best balance of warm evenings and shorter queues. Tablao Flamenco Orillas de Triana on Calle Castilla 94 starts from about €25, while larger venues cost about €38 to €45 and shows with dinner about €55 to €90. Kitchens rarely open before 20:00, so a 21:00 table is the norm.
Choosing your season
For atmosphere, pick spring. For value and calm, pick winter or autumn. Check hotel prices on Booking.com once the dates are set. Pairing ideas sit on the sightseeing page .
Tip: book the baths and the tablao for the same evening, baths first.
