Seville Sightseeing by Budget

Seville’s finest archive building costs nothing to enter, while a single palace can cost as much as lunch for two. Sorting sights by price shows where the value sits.

  • Archivo General de Indias: a UNESCO World Heritage site in a 16th-century merchants’ exchange, holding original documents of the Spanish Empire. Admission is free year round, with a bag check at the door.
  • Plaza de España: free to enter. The city has discussed a non-resident fee, but none applies.
  • Cathedral, Sunday slot: a free visit from 16:30 to 18:00 with online reservation on catedraldesevilla.es .
  • Real Alcázar, Monday slot: a limited free Monday slot exists, booked online well ahead.
  • Plazas: Plaza del Triunfo, Plaza Virgen de los Reyes and, on Sundays, the numismatic market in Plaza del Cabildo.

Under €10

The Alcázar has a reduced rate of €8 for visitors over 65 and students aged 14 to 30, and it now applies to every nationality. Hours are 09:30 to 17:00 from October to March and 09:30 to 19:00 from April to September. Under-13s with an adult are free. The Torre del Oro houses a small naval museum that charges a low fee or donation, and entry terms vary by day, so check at the door.

€10 to €16

  • Casa de Pilatos: about €12 for the ground floor, with its Renaissance and Mudéjar mix and the tile collection. See fundacionmedinaceli.org .
  • Palacio de las Dueñas: about €12 to €13 with an audio guide, home of the Dukes of Alba. Details are on lasduenas.es .
  • Cathedral and Giralda: €13 online and €14 at the box office, reduced €7 or €8.

Full price

The Real Alcázar is about €15.50 for adults, and the Cuarto Real Alto adds €5.50. The Setas walkway starts from €16 and includes a film and, from April to October, the Aurora night show. Casa de Pilatos is about €18 with the upper floor. The Alcázar’s general ticket also covers the Antiquarium and other municipal museums, so ask about them at alcazarsevilla.org before paying twice.

Making a budget day

Start with the free Archivo at opening, cross to the Cathedral or Alcázar with a booked slot, then spend the afternoon in free plazas. Hospital de la Caridad, a Baroque charity hospital with paintings by Murillo and Valdés Leal, is a good small addition near the river.
