7 Days in Fiji: The First-Timer Itinerary

Seven days is the full loop: Nadi, both Mamanuca island days, the Coral Coast, a real Yasawa overnight at the Blue Lagoon, and a Suva day trip by air to close it out with the country’s museum and market side. This extends the 6-day route with one more day; if a week feels like too much time on the move, back off to the 4 or 5-day version instead.

Day 1: Nadi Arrival and the Sabeto Mud Pools

Morning (9:00 am - 12:00 pm)

  • Land at Nadi International Airport (NAN), taxi to Denarau, roughly FJD30-45
  • Visit the Sabeto Hot Springs and Mud Pool , entry roughly FJD10 to look, FJD20-25 for the mud bath, cash-only

Afternoon (12:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

Day 5: Yasawa Flyer to the Blue Lagoon

Afternoon (12:00 pm - 5:00 pm)

  • Arrive at a Yasawa resort near Nanuya Lailai or Matacawalevu, the Blue Lagoon islands, and swim the lagoon itself

Evening (5:00 pm - 9:00 pm)

  • Resort dinner, usually included given the total lack of local competition this far out

Day 6: Sawa-i-Lau Caves and the Return to Denarau

Morning (8:00 am - 1:00 pm)

  • Half-day boat trip to Sawa-i-Lau, a two-chamber limestone cave with a swimmable, skylight-lit pool; standalone packages with lunch run roughly FJD160-280

Afternoon (1:00 pm - 6:00 pm)

  • Board the Yasawa Flyer back toward Denarau, budget the same 2-8 hour range

Afternoon (12:00 pm - 4:00 pm)

  • Eat lunch at the Suva Municipal Market on Usher Street, a two-level covered market at its busiest Friday and Saturday; a cooked plate runs roughly FJD5-15
  • Walk Victoria Parade past the art deco Government Buildings and the restored 1914 Grand Pacific Hotel, or head to Colo-i-Suva Forest Park, about 15 minutes outside the center, entry roughly FJD5 adult, for a rainforest walk to the swimming pools

Evening (4:30 pm - 9:00 pm)

  • Fly back to Nadi in the early evening; pack for an early international departure the next morning
  • Final dinner at Denarau, budget FJD30-50 a head

Fast tips

  • Suva gets nearly double Nadi’s rainfall, so check the forecast and pack a light rain jacket for this one day even if the rest of the trip stayed dry
  • Book the Nadi-Suva flight both ways in advance; the route runs roughly 35 flights a week, plenty of frequency but not a walk-up guarantee
  • Downtown Suva has more petty theft risk than the resort islands, keep bags close and skip poorly lit streets after dark
