Couples tend to enjoy Tashkent after sunset, when the heat lifts and the city lights come on. Think of the visit as three possible evenings, each with a different mood, plus one daytime excursion.

Evening: classical performance

The Alisher Navoi Opera and Ballet Theatre went up between 1940 and 1947 and is credited to Alexey Shchusev. Look at the programme on iTicket and book a date that matches your trip. The theatre is a good first night because it needs no planning beyond the tickets.

Evening: city lights from above

The Tashkent TV Tower stands 375 m tall and has a public deck at 97 m. Admission is about 40,000 to 60,000 UZS, and the deck closes around 20:00, so go in the golden hour rather than after dark. A restaurant sits above the deck and costs more than the deck ticket alone.

Afterwards, walk to Amir Temur Square. The Timur statue and the Tashkent Chimes towers make a pleasant backdrop, and tea and plov at a choyxona end the night well.

Evening: mountain air

For a slower pace, spend a late afternoon at Amirsoy, roughly 65 km from Tashkent. In summer the gondolas operate until about 19:00 and one climbs to 2,290 m. Reaching the resort takes 1.5 to 2 hours by car, so leave in the morning. Mountain weather turns cool and changes quickly; bring a warm layer.

Daytime excursion

A visit to the Parkent solar furnace, 45 km from the city, is an unusual shared adventure. It is run through operators and includes a stairway to the deck.

A sample weekend

On Friday, take a daytime walk around Amir Temur Square and book the theatre for the evening. On Saturday, go to Amirsoy in the morning, return for a tea house dinner, and save the TV tower deck for Sunday’s late afternoon before your flight or train. This order keeps the long drive on the day with the most energy and leaves a short, easy visit for the end.

Respectful boundaries

Hazrati Imam Square, the Center of Islamic Civilization, mosques and the Courage Monument are for quiet reflection. Keep affectionate photos and posing away from them, and dress with covered shoulders and knees.
