2 Days in Jaipur Plus Golden Triangle
Two days from Jaipur means picking exactly two trips and committing: a relaxed Pushkar and Ajmer day, then a genuinely compressed Ranthambore tiger safari. It’s a real itinerary, sold by actual tour operators, but it’s the tightest version of both trips on offer. If you can free up a third day, the 3-day version trades the rushed safari for a proper overnight.

Day 1: Pushkar and Ajmer
- Morning (7:00am): depart Jaipur by private car for Ajmer, 135-140km down NH48, roughly 2 to 2.5 hours. Visit the Dargah Sharif, one of the subcontinent’s most important Sufi shrines, dress modestly and expect a working pilgrimage site rather than a museum.
- Late morning: drive 15km on to Pushkar, about 40 minutes, and walk the ghats around Pushkar Lake. Visit the Brahma Temple, one of the only working temples to Brahma in India.
- Afternoon: lunch in Pushkar’s lakeside cafes, then browse Pushkar Bazaar for block-print textiles and silver jewelry before the drive back.
- Evening: return to Jaipur by early evening, roughly 2.5 to 3 hours back. Rest, this trip alone is a full day even before tomorrow’s early start.
Day 2: Ranthambore Tiger Safari, Compressed
- Very early (5:00am): depart Jaipur for Ranthambore National Park, 180-200km southeast, 3.5 to 4 hours by road. This is the compressed version of the trip, expect roughly 16 hours on the road and in the park combined.
- Midday: arrive Sawai Madhopur, grab lunch near the park gate, and rest briefly before the afternoon safari slot.
- Afternoon: one safari session in a shared 6-seat Gypsy jeep or a 20-seat Canter truck, foreigner Gypsy seats run roughly INR 3,700-4,200 (about $39-44) after the 1 April 2026 fee hike, confirm current pricing before booking. One session means one shot at a tiger sighting, never guaranteed either way.
- Night: long drive back to Jaipur, arriving late. Plan a slow start the next morning if this is your last night.
Is 2 days enough to see the Golden Triangle from Jaipur?
Not the whole thing, no. Two days covers Pushkar and Ajmer properly plus one compressed Ranthambore safari, but Agra’s Taj Mahal and Delhi both need overnights that simply don’t fit. If the Taj Mahal is the actual priority, extend to the 5-day itinerary , which swaps in a proper Agra overnight.
