7 Days in Jaipur Plus Golden Triangle

Seven days keeps everything from the 6-day plan , Pushkar, Ajmer, an overnight Ranthambore safari, an Agra and Taj Mahal overnight, and Abhaneri plus Bhangarh, then adds a 7th day onward to Delhi. Treat Delhi as the trip’s capstone, not a round trip, most travelers fly home from Delhi rather than looping back to Jaipur.

Day 1: Pushkar and Ajmer

  • Morning (7:00am): depart Jaipur for Ajmer, 135-140km, roughly 2 to 2.5 hours. Visit the Dargah Sharif, dress modestly.
  • Midday: 15km on to Pushkar, about 40 minutes, for the ghats and the Brahma Temple.
  • Afternoon: lakeside lunch, then Pushkar Bazaar before heading back.
  • Evening: return to Jaipur, 2.5 to 3 hours.

Day 2: Depart for Ranthambore, Evening Safari

  • Early (6:00am): depart Jaipur for Ranthambore National Park, 180-200km, 3.5 to 4 hours.
  • Afternoon/evening: first safari session, foreigner Gypsy seats run roughly INR 3,700-4,200 (about $39-44) since the 1 April 2026 fee hike.
  • Night: dinner near the park, second safari starts before sunrise.

Day 3: Morning Safari and Return to Jaipur

  • Very early (6:00am): second safari session, two sessions across an overnight meaningfully improve your odds over one rushed trip.
  • Midday: return drive to Jaipur, 3.5 to 4 hours.

Day 4: Depart for Agra, Agra Fort

  • Morning (8:00am): depart Jaipur for Agra, 240km, 4 to 5 hours by road, or roughly 4.5 hours on the fastest named express trains, no confirmed 2-hour service exists on this route yet.
  • Afternoon: Agra Fort, the Mughal fortress-palace that predates the Taj.
  • Evening: sunset at Mehtab Bagh, the garden across the river for the classic Taj reflection view.

Day 5: Taj Mahal Sunrise and Return to Jaipur

  • Sunrise (6:00am): the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983, at opening. Closed every Friday, plan around it. Foreigner entry runs about INR 1,100, plus INR 200 for the mausoleum, roughly INR 1,300 (about $14) total.
  • Midday: depart for Jaipur, 4 to 5 hours back.

Day 6: Abhaneri Stepwell and Bhangarh Fort

  • Morning (7:00am): depart Jaipur for Chand Baori at Abhaneri, roughly 85-95km, 2 to 2.5 hours, a geometric stepwell staircase descending multiple stories, built around the 9th century.
  • Midday: continue about 15km, roughly an hour, to Bhangarh Fort, marketed unverifiably as India’s most haunted site, closed sunset to sunrise by Archaeological Survey of India order.
  • Afternoon: return to Jaipur, or overnight in Jaipur one last time before tomorrow’s onward leg to Delhi.

Day 7: Onward to Delhi

  • Morning: travel to Delhi, 280km northeast, 4.5 to 5 hours by road, or by the fastest direct trains on the route, verify current schedules on the official India tourism site before booking.
  • Rest of day: Delhi anchors the classic Delhi-Agra-Jaipur Golden Triangle, but treat it as its own city, not a bolt-on. A single day here only covers a fraction of what Delhi actually offers.

Is Delhi worth adding as a 7th day, or should it be its own trip?

Both, depending on your flight home. If you’re flying out of Delhi anyway, folding in a 7th day here costs nothing extra and gives you at least a taste of Old and New Delhi. If your return flight is from Jaipur, skip this day and treat Delhi as a separate future trip instead, one rushed day badly undersells it.
