6 Days in Jaipur Plus Golden Triangle

Six days keeps everything from the 5-day plan , Pushkar and Ajmer, the overnight Ranthambore safari, the Agra and Taj Mahal overnight, then adds back the Abhaneri stepwell and Bhangarh Fort day that the 5-day version dropped. This is the version to run if you want the full roster of day trips without stretching all the way to a Delhi extension.

Day 1: Pushkar and Ajmer

  • Morning (7:00am): depart Jaipur for Ajmer, 135-140km, roughly 2 to 2.5 hours. Visit the Dargah Sharif, dress modestly.
  • Midday: 15km on to Pushkar, about 40 minutes. Walk the ghats and visit the Brahma Temple.
  • Afternoon: lakeside lunch, then Pushkar Bazaar before heading back.
  • Evening: return to Jaipur, 2.5 to 3 hours.

Day 2: Depart for Ranthambore, Evening Safari

  • Early (6:00am): depart Jaipur for Ranthambore National Park, 180-200km, 3.5 to 4 hours.
  • Afternoon/evening: first safari session, foreigner Gypsy seats run roughly INR 3,700-4,200 (about $39-44) since the 1 April 2026 fee hike.
  • Night: dinner near the park, second safari starts before sunrise.

Day 3: Morning Safari and Return to Jaipur

  • Very early (6:00am): second safari session, two sessions across an overnight meaningfully improve your odds over one rushed trip.
  • Midday: return drive to Jaipur, 3.5 to 4 hours.

Day 4: Depart for Agra, Agra Fort

  • Morning (8:00am): depart Jaipur for Agra, 240km, 4 to 5 hours by road, or roughly 4.5 hours on the fastest named express trains, no confirmed 2-hour service exists on this route yet.
  • Afternoon: Agra Fort, the Mughal fortress-palace that predates the Taj.
  • Evening: sunset at Mehtab Bagh, the garden across the river for the classic Taj reflection view.

Day 5: Taj Mahal Sunrise and Return to Jaipur

  • Sunrise (6:00am): the Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983, at opening. Closed every Friday, plan around it. Foreigner entry runs about INR 1,100, plus INR 200 for the mausoleum, roughly INR 1,300 (about $14) total.
  • Midday: depart for Jaipur, 4 to 5 hours back.

Day 6: Abhaneri Stepwell and Bhangarh Fort

  • Morning (7:00am): depart Jaipur for Chand Baori at Abhaneri, roughly 85-95km, 2 to 2.5 hours. Its geometric stepwell staircase descends multiple stories, built around the 9th century and expanded later.
  • Midday: continue about 15km, roughly an hour, to Bhangarh Fort, marketed unverifiably as India’s most haunted site. The Archaeological Survey of India bars entry between sunset and sunrise.
  • Afternoon: return drive to Jaipur, a private car or the tour above is the practical way to cover both stops, public transit doesn’t really reach either.

Do you need a car to reach Abhaneri and Bhangarh?

Yes, effectively. Both sites sit far enough off the main routes that public buses are impractical for a day trip, and combining them in one day only works with a private car or an organized tour that’s already planned the route. Book ahead in the October-March peak, when day tours to this pairing fill up fastest.
